Dish subscribers are being warned by Tribune Broadcasting of a possible Sunday TV blackout due to a retransmission consent deal that expires Sunday at 5 p.m.

Tribune stations covering 33 major markets on Saturday began warning viewers with on-air crawls of possible service interruptions Sunday evening. The dispute will also affect Tribune’s WGN America cable channel, which is distributed in about 7 million Dish homes.

In Denver, Tribune owns KWGN-Channel 2 (affiliated with CW) and KDVR-Channel 31 (affiliated with Fox).

“We want to reach an agreement with Dish,” Gary Weitman, Tribune Media’s senior vice president for corporate relations, said in a statement. “We’ve offered the same fair market rates that Dish already pays other local station groups with ABC, CBS, NBC and CW affiliates with top-rated local news, and other similarly valued cable networks. At the same time, we’re willing to accept the same rates for our local stations and WGN America that others are currently paying us. Dish has refused our offer.”
