Good point. France looked to be the stronger team coming in.

Happy for Portugal winning without their star. Always had a soft spot for them, except Ronaldo. I've seen his NYC apartment, the hate flows strong in me.

French and German commentators on ESPN showing their ass.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

They spent the next half hour talking about how Portugal's style of play wasn't "real football." It just came across as butt hurt. At one point I turned away and came back 10 minutes later, still the same tripe. A French guy, an English guy and a German, all sounded just pissed their team didn't win.

Thats to bad, I have no problem with Portugal winning especially when they were not the favorite to do so.

They didn't like that they sat back and basically won smash and grab today and played not to lose earlier in the tournament. Thought it was a lame analysis, considering they lost their superstar to injury early in this one and had to win four matches, including a wide open 2-0 win over Wales to get to this point.

I thought Portugal were pretty unspectacular the whole tournament, and the final was a bit of a bore.

    But congrats to them.

Well, if you really think about it, the Broncos were kind of the same way this past year but found a way. I guess you could say Portugal did the same and found a way no matter how ugly it might have looked.

I like how you still change your plural possessive verbs for soccer discussions.
