Default No Joy For The Scoobois

A month or two ago during the height of Scoobymania(tm), the Wise Guys here assured me that Scooby Wright was "the best LB in the draft", that we'd better pick him in the third round like their mocks urged or we'd miss out.

I made a nothing-bet statement (meaning nothing was wagered) that Alex Collins (RB, Arkansas) would be drafted before Wright. I said just wait until the actual draft.

    Final Results:
Alex Collins, Compensation Pick #171 to Seattle in the fifth round.
Scooby Wright, Compensation Pick #250 to Cleveland in the seventh round.

Wright was the 14th and final player chosen by his own club, just three players from the end of the 2016 draft.

Either none of the 32 teams recognized the "best linebacker in the draft" as the Scoobois insisted or some folks here just fell in love with a name instead of a player.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.

When did your strange obsession with Scooby Wright begin?
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

    WTF?

I responded to your comment. I mean, shear time frame shows your post was before mine. Lol.

So, again, did Scooby Wright piss in your Wheaties? You've been going on about him for months.

I was thinking about doing a post-by-post break down of all posts which discussed SW in the above mentioned thread, but I have a feeling that it would be a waist of my time. So let me just say that you've greatly embellished the enthusiasm of those who like him. Yes there were a couple of posters, including MO, who said that he was 1 of the best LBs 2 YEARS AGO. However, they also acknowledge that he missed last season due to injuries. That suggests to me that neither of them are banking on him being as good now as he was before his injury.

Don't worry There'll be another Scooby to fight over next draft, Broncos fans like their short, slow and utterly white MLB's.

We have a fullback to fill the void.

Yes, I exaggerated but MO and the others were carrying on like Bernie Sanders groupies believing they really had a chance to win the nomination. This was my chance to go "Scoreboard!" because they were justifying choosing Scooby in the third.

Keep in mind too that Jaylon Smith and Myles Jack appeared to have more recent and worse injuries but were still taken in the second round so I'm not sure how well the injury excuse holds water.

Good luck with the Browns, Scooby. Don't cut yourself. Their doctors might kill you.

I picked him a few times in my mocks but he was also rated in the 3rd round range at the time as well. I personally never said he was the best thing since sliced bread but if he was rated in that range than the value was there to take him. Obviously when doing something like Fanspeak will never turn out exactly they way they have players projected. Connor Cook was constantly rated as a late 1st to mid 2nd round player, Elliott was always in the mid first to late first pick but went top 5. I dont know Hoof you do seem to be far more interested in Scooby than anyone else when it comes to posting about him. I dont think i ever saw a thread dedicated to just him as far as people liking him that much but you are the first to post a thread dedicated just to him so why do you hate that guy so much?

Seriously. Who the hell was fanboying over scooby? I must have missed that. I think scooby must have plowed hoof's sister and never called her back.

Honestly, I would have liked to have seen he Broncos pick him up because the guy is intense and seems to love the game. He's one of those guys who isn't as talented, but just seems to do something special occasionally, i.e. Rob Ninkovich.

Uh oh. This won't end well.
