Thread: What's on my mind? Jury duty.

No thanks.

I'm 41, and have never been asked to sit on a jury. Once I was asked to be a witness in a drunk driving hit and run. A car in the left lane veered in the right lane and hit an SUV. SUV went down the embankment near a set of active RR tracks. At least 4 trains an hour.

I followed the car and called state patrol. She ended up trying to hide out in a subdivision where there were only two ways out. I found her deep in the subdivision once the State patrol blocked the exits. When she saw my car, she rolled out, just to get caught a few blocks later.

She had just been at an after work office gathering, and had one too many. She plead guilty, and I was sent back to work.

I never had to do this before. I've been summoned before but I always had a legitimate excuse, but not this time.

I've never gotten summoned, which I find strange. Not complaining. Hope my streak continues.

I've been on juries 5-6 times in my life (all in Texas), they're a bit of a hassle but not bad, particularly if your employer still pays you for those days. If you REALLY want not to be chosen, your best bet is to wear a "David Duke For President" t-shirt.

Unfortunately I didn't have one.
