Thread: 4k question

  1. #1

    Default 4k question

    Just got a 55in 4k tv.

It appears that 1080 shows go full screen and 4k shows go widescreen, is this normal?

All depends on the format it was shot in. Just make sure you have whatever you can set for resolution to either auto or native.

What are you using for source?

It's a smart tv, Amazon fire os.

I wonder if I'm actually watching in 4k, I tested starwars on Disney+ which is supposed to be 4k I think.

Anything in 4k will say it on the menu. It'll be featured pretty prominently.

Search specifically for 4k and see what they have, that'll also show you where they show 4k on the info

Looks like maybe starwars/marvel is 4k wide, other 4k flicks are full screen and obviously not 1080

On the remote there shpuld be settings for Native/picture mode/ or resolution? If not in Options menu? Also check power saving is off until you work out the kinks
