    Well, then I would recommend using Mayo for your chicken salad rather than chicken shit.

    He should use whatever is on hand; no matter how you slice it, it's a lateral move.

    They are usually best when fried. You can barbeque them if you know what you're doing. Nuggets and strips are also highly sought after kinds of chicken. If you're lucky, you might even get the chicken burrito.

    My wife and I are friends with a sorta Hippie couple that kept chickens for a while. They originally got them to keep their sheep pasture tick-free, as apparently chickens will eat ticks for as long as you let them. That's a big plus side, right there, as ticks in Upstate NY carry Lyme disease.

    Some things to consider;

    They smell.

    They are friggin LOUD

    Roosters are pretty mean

    Chickens only lay eggs for a short time but can live for years. If you are prepared to deal with beheading the chickens when their egg-laying days are done, rock on. Please don't be an animal rights douche that floods no-kill shelters with urban chickens.

    Our hippie friends recommend making sort of a collar out of old Pepsi bottles that you slip over the chicken's head when his or her "bad day" arrives. Makes it fairly easy to lop off their heads with little risk of chopping off your fingers. They made one that could deal with six at a time.

    Plucking off the feathers would be worse than lopping off their heads. JMO.

    If you keep them in small cages, they will taste better.

    Dave endorses this, and Dreads post about the multiple beheading apparatus.

    You have to parboil them apparently. If you do it right the feathers slide right off. I think gutting them would be more gross

    Thank God we have wives to deal with that stuff.

    Well done!
    The rest of you need to take lessons from this man.

    Roosters will not be happening. No matter what. I am not dealing with their cockadoodling in the morning. Plus, she was attacked by a rooster when she was a child and she hates them- also slightly afraid of them. I feel I have enough ammo to sufficiently over rule she and my son on the fowl.

    I heard to kill the chicken you just grab it by the neck and twirl it around in the air a few times. Breaks their necks. Kills instantly. Then one can move to the rest.
