Thread: Poll about bans

The mods do a very good job compared to other Broncos-related message boards that are way oversensitive.

That said, I would like to have a link or something to see what post(s) caused the banning, because sometimes they are deleted or edited.

I also think sometimes posters whose buttons get pushed easily get baited quite a bit, which comes down to fairness really. I am guilty of this as well, as I think it's fun to push people like Shane's buttons, but hopefully it comes across that my intent is not malicious and it's all in the name of fun. Particularly as it relates to Shane, sometimes the intent from others reads as malicious from my perspective, but I may be wrong.

I don't remember what it was exactly, but I'm pretty sure WTE let out a pretty nasty personal attack to someone that went way above and beyond the shit we usually give each other. And that was after getting several warnings to knock it off. I mean, if the mods are warning you and you still do shit like that anyway, it is what it is. Having said that I would love to see WTE reinstated, but he apparently has no interest in it.

WTE and I had been duking it out for quite some time. He started a thread about the posters that he hated and by the time he had rounded into form he was really nuking posters, me included.

As much as I dislike him as a human being, and he is the only poster on this site that I can honestly say I truly dislike, I wanted him to come back, too.

When I got banned I think I had two or three CYP PM's directed at me. All of them were beyond cordial and informed me of what would occur if I didn't stop, as well as asking me as a poster and member of the board to stop. The reason why I think things are fine is because of both scenarios. WTE was given multiple opportunities to come back after his ban, as well as to stop his behavior before he was banned. I had the same scenario. We both opted to continue with our behavior. Hypothetically speaking, airing the dirty laundry of both scenarios (for behind the 'scenes' content) would do nothing more than make the situation worse. This isn't politics or law enforcement, transparency only really matters when they stakes are high or could be high.

I'm surprised I was never banned. I guess because I always shut up when I get a CYP.

As to mod limits, dont really think its necessary especially when the current mod group seems to be quite fine.

My comment about term limits wasn't because I think they're doing a bad job. It might be good for other posters to get a taste of it so they can see what it's all about if they want to.

What you're asking for potentially reveals who is alerting the moderators because, a lot actions maybe even most start with the reporting of a post. Start outing people and this will lead to chaos.

I AM NOT ASKING FOR ANYTHING.

I was however asking if people wished to make changes in any capacity to the banning process.

I asked this because several people espoused views of displeasure after the last two high profile bans. So rather than just moan about something, on the advice of the mods, I created a poll to give people that option. The masses have now spoken though rendering this thread null and void.

If changes were to occur, there would have to be something to mitigate this.
