Default Ty Lawson waived by Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets waived guard Ty Lawson, general manager Daryl Morey announced Tuesday.

Lawson and the Rockets reached a buyout agreement on Tuesday, as first reported by The Vertical.

Since starting the first 11 games of the season, Lawson was moved to the bench where his minutes were cut in half from 36 to 18. The 28-year-old played in 53 games for the Rockets, averaging 5.8 points, 3.4 assists and 1.7 rebounds. In his career, he's averaging 13.3 points, 6.2 assists and 2.8 rebounds.

He was acquired from the Nuggets on July 20, 2015.

    Default

The Rockets plan of acquiring talented players who've been castoff by other teams backfired in spectacular fashion this year. Lawson is a turd and at some point a bad work ethic will override natural abilities.

Default Pacers reportedly agree to deal with free agent Ty Lawson

Free-agent guard Ty Lawson will join the Indiana Pacers, according to a Yahoo Sports report, a move that comes after the Houston Rockets bought him out Tuesday.

Lawson, 28, is expected to sign his contract with Indiana this weekend after the team completes a buyout of forward Chase Budinger.

Lawson could play a backup role to guard George Hill. Indiana also just reactivated point guard Rodney Stuckey last week after he missed 19 games with an injured right foot.
