    Default Top Rappers

How would you rank the Top 10 rappers, and who would your top 10 be? By skill? Influence? Success? A combination of all three?

Dog asked me this, and I don't even know where I'd begin.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

I was hoping for rappers you've actually heard of.

I'm kind of interested in the cultural impact of their work.

Wouldn't that start with Grandmaster Flash, members of Run-DMC, Beastie Boys, members of NWA, specifically Dr. Dre as a producer, Snoop Dogg, members of the Wu Tang Clan, Biggie, 2Pac, Nas, Eminem, Jay-Z? In chronological-ish order.

I am by no means a fan of rap, in fact I despise it, but in my lifetime it seems the most culturally important rappers were Run DMC, NWO, and the Beastie Boys.

The Beastie Boys brought rap to suburban white kids. I remember when License to Ill came out it was one of the biggest releases ever. Every kid I knew had a copy of that album.

I agree. Beastie Boys needs to be in there. License to Ill was an amazing album. So was Paul's Boutique.
