KUSA - At last, some movement in the Denver Broncos’ quest to strengthen its quarterback position.

Former Houston Texan quarterback Brian Hoyer was in Denver on Wednesday night eating dinner at a local steakhouse with members of the Broncos' coaching staff and personal department, a source told 9News. Hoyer's presence doesn't necessarily mean a Broncos trade for San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick has expired, although a source told 9News there has been zero discussion between Broncos general manager John Elway, the 49ers and Kaepernick in the past two weeks.

Hoyer will continue to meet Thursday with the Broncos at their team headquarters. Primarily a backup quarterback his first five NFL seasons, Hoyer emerged as a starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns in 2014 and for the Houston Texans in 2015.

It became clear that, after Westerman, John Elway just gave up on this draft and possibly had a tee time to catch.

    1) He trades a 5th and a 7th for a 6th and a future 6th - one less decision to make this year.
    2) He drafts a fullback from Nebraska not named Roger Craig or Tom Rathman.
    3) He drafts a safety that nobody seemed to have on their radars
    4) He drafts a punter.

Elway pretty much Ditka'ed the final rounds of the draft. That's okay. He did pretty well for the first 4-1/2 rounds but the trade and the last three picks indicated to me there was no interest in who we took the last 2-1/2 rounds.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.

I don't think I've ever seen a GM get accused of not caring before.

It's been snowing in Denver for the past three days.

Normally, I enjoy your insightful comments OrangeHoof. But this assessment is absolute dogshit.

Yea, especially since Sanchez conditional pick might end up being a sixth and the Broncos didn't have a six next year.

I still struggle to think that a GM just said '**** it' at the second half of the draft.

Crazy comments aside I don't think I've ever been so interested to see a punter. That pick could have been Max McCaffrey.

What's amazing about this particular punter?

Maybe it is about letting Colquitt know he needs to renegotiate again this year, or move on

We do after yesterday's trade with Tennessee
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

My point. Assuming Elway checked out and didn't think things through is a little silly.
