Old NSA hacking tools from a contractor get released and therefore Apple was right to fight the FBI on access to a terrorists phone.

    Huh?

You do know that it was still some as-of-yet unknown 3rd party that gave the FBI the tools needed to crack the phone, right?

I mean, I get how this is clickbait, but it's still more off the mark, tangential misdirection that still doesn't address the core issue. Governments, just like corporations can be hacked. The specific tool this thread is about was not released. Hence, this is a strawman.

i like how you conveniently forget the FBI wanted Apple to write code for them. And then the fact, that others brought up that it would end up in the hands of other foreign governments. One in particular. Russia.

And Snowden's 'top secret, previously unavailable documents' that prove that this software is from the NSA comes from the guy, who defected from the US and is living where again? Yes. How conveniently we forget.

I also like how you forget that if apple had written this software then there'd be 0 questions about where the exploit/hack/unlock came from and who is/was in control of it. But, hey, they fought the good fight, and it increased security for all. Somehow.

I don't recall pinning it on him. I said it was super convenient. It is.

I like how you ignored the rest.

While i dont think the Government is out to harm the American people i also think its hilarious that they are trying so hard to prosecute Snowden for basically outing them. Dont want a scandal on your hands? Dont deceive the American people and encourage their distrust.

    yeah - that's where i am.

They are not trying to manipulate the world as part of some kind of NWO - but they are certainly not squeaky clean.

I wonder though - if we discovered the files snowden did - who would destroy them, and who would release them? Where does patriotism and moral righteousness cross over. Tough call i think.

As far as i am aware, nobody has died as a result of snowden's file release.

for the record, i dont believe in some shady NWO controlling US surveillance policy. I just fundamentally believe that government will abuse its own power and own limits that have been placed on them, as history has shown, and as they circumvent the constitution daily.

This then leads to manipulation by powerful people.
