Default Bronco rookie gets sent home after caught by police in prostitution sting

    What a dope.

Denver Broncos rookie safety Ryan Murphy and his brother were detained and questioned Tuesday as part of a prostitution sting in San Jose, California.Murphy eventually was released and was not charged in the incident. The Broncos have sent Murphy home.

"Although practice squad safety Ryan Murphy was not cited by police, we decided it was best for the team if we continued our preparations for Super Bowl 50 without him," Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said in a statement. "Ryan is returning to Denver but his status as a practice squad player has not changed at this time."

The San Jose Mercury News reported that the sting involved Murphy's brother and was conducted by the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Police. The paper, citing sources, said the pair was questioned by sheriff's deputies Tuesday evening at a Motel 6 in north San Jose.

Who? I just don't care who is on the practice squad late in the year. Somewhat interested at the beginning of the season to see what young players they are keeping to develop, but couldn't care less during the season. I'm sure Elway will send him packing after the SB.

The Santa Clara Sheriff's Office confirmed that Ryan Murphy was briefly detained in connection with the sting at a Motel 6 near the San Jose International Airport. Spokesman Sgt. James Jensen said that Murphy was later released after it was determined that he was not involved.

"The Broncos went from one of the more attractive organizations in the NFL to one in total disarray. McDaniels will go down as one of the most reviled figures in Denver sports history".

No kidding; we don't need this kind of distraction (nor the daunting concentration/preparation precedents it invokes.) Super Bowl coaches should sit the whole team down for a Eugene Robinson briefing during every bye week.
Oh, valid point. I thought you meant all starters, you should take the time to be more descriptive, don't be shy. Jaded

The rookie wasnt even going to be on the sideline and the team has already sent him home so problem solved. Just a dumb move to be around his brother who apparently has a hard time getting laid.

It's still a team distraction and bad press days before the years biggest game; the biggest game of many of their CAREERS. He's not as critical to the team as Robinson was to the Falcons, but Atlantas players still contend that through off their whole game and preparation (not that I think it would've mattered either way.)
