Would all the team's maintain their name, or would any completely change, ala the ravens or titans?
Eg the LA Sharks
(i am aware why the browns became the ravens, and the oilers the titans, I am just curious if there is any talk about renaming the franchise's that are hoping to move)
Additionally, it would be tremendously more productive to renovate the building for use than spend nearly 100 million on what would amount to nothing or perhaps a parking lot space. There are plans to turn the structure into an indoor recreational center, park and convention center.

i agree, but you have to consider the current on the waterfront.
It is extremely strong, and the only real option would be to build some type of harbor.
However this new stadium they are planning will redo the entire riverfront of that area, so hoping the NFL likes it, because it would change alot.

The inside of the Astrodome is crumbling. Many sections of seating have been sold as souvenirs, as has sections of astroturf. Chunks of insulation are breaking off and falling because the building costs over $1 million/yr to air condition to keep the inside from decaying and the county (which has always owned the facility) does not want to pay for that. No activities have taken place in there since 2008.
There have been ideas to turn the area into a museum, a business center with hotel, a casino, a movie studio, a water park and other things but the county leaders keep voting them down and, I suspect, want the facility to fall into such disrepair that most people will agree to just blow it up and be done with it. I don't see why they won't sell it to private business but they won't.
The most recent idea was to leave the roof structure standing and make the area beneath a park/amphitheatre for outdoor concerts with a roof over it and include a memorial plaque acknowledging what once stood there and the contributions/events that took place there.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.
Most people I know around here wouldn't mind seeing it disappear so there's more parking at NRG. For whatever that's worth.
