Default Practice / press conference notes, etc. - week 10 (Chiefs week)

    Andrew Mason ‏@MaseDenver 5h

Kubiak has discussed using Anunike as a fourth OLB if the need arises because of injuries.

    Andrew Mason ‏@MaseDenver 6h

Don't know. Back spasms are tricky. That's why Kubiak said he's day-to-day. RT @Nacho_Benaglia: How long will DeMarcus Ware be out?

A week or so ago, I was reliably (i.e. trenchantly) informed even SUGGESTING Anunike play OLB in our 3-4 is rank idiocy. Whoever heard of a 4-3 DE going to 3-4 OLB; if that were even POSSIBLE there'd probably be some specific term for such players. This presumably proves Kubiak's never played a football game and doesn't watch any of ours.
Oh, valid point. I thought you meant all starters, you should take the time to be more descriptive, don't be shy. Jaded

Whoa man! Take it easy! You don't want to tear a rotators cuff or labrum. You know, from patting yourself on the back so vigorously.

He's a pro. He probably stretches and stuff before the vigorous back patting. I mean, he's been doing it here for years so I assume he's proficient in his preparation to achieve such longevity.

Not a serious injury. Not expected to miss playing time. We'll see.

    Vic Lombardi ‏@VicLombardi 48m

Expect to see Peyton Manning's name on the injury report today. Foot injury. I'll share more details on the @FanMorningShow.

I almost want to see us just rest Peyton a week even if it is just a minor injury. Keeps it from becoming a more severe injury, and gets us a one-week look at Brock. I'm sure there is no chance that happens, but I wouldn't hate it.

That would be opening Pandora's box. What happens if Brock kills it? Huge game etc? THEN we have a QB controversy, and added pressure on Manning.

I understand your thinking, and am eager to know how Brock really would handle himself in that position, but it just can't happen unless the organization is truly ready to pull the plug on Manning.

Peyton played better with a partially torn quad last year than he has all season this season. Maybe a little lingering injury is what they need for Peyton to improve?

He'll play, and I hope he does. One completed pass (well, at least a 4-5 yard pass) to break Favre's yardage record, and a win to break the all time wins record. I can't think of a better time to get both than against KC at home.

Yeah I definitely agree it won't happen due to the controversy it could cause, but the curious side of me still really wants to see it.

For #Broncos Peyton Manning was on injury report all of last week as well (rt. shoulder), this week expected to be listed w/foot injury.

A foot injury could really hurt Manning's accuracy. He needs to be able to plant and throw more than anyone else in the league.

The TV maps for the week are up - I'm actually surprised so many parts of the country are getting this game. I assumed Pats/Giants would be shown in most of the country. I myself will be hitting up a Bronco bar in NYC just for kicks (and drinks).

For those of you that care about announcers, we will be getting Greg Gumbel and Trent Green, not Nantz and Simms:
