Default Man shot in head during Dallas Cowboys tailgate fight outside AT&T Stadium

According to the article, "A gunman shot a football fan during a rowdy Dallas Cowboys tailgate party outside AT&T Stadium". What confounds and horrifies me is this quote from the article:

The suspect allegedly held a gun to the victim’s head as a crowd egged him on to open fire, witnesses told a Star-Telegram reporter.

What the hell is wrong with people? How could anyone encourage someone to shot another person, let alone to shot them in the head?

Even the Raiders fans in the Black Hole didn't and don't stoop this low!!
Too bad she doesn't cheer for the Patriots dressed like this

We have a more all-inclusive media these days. Even if the network reporters miss it, somebody tweets it or puts it on YouTube so we get to see just how depraved our neighbors are.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.

All of which further desensitizes the general public to "general" depravity (or just plain old banality of evil.) That said, populations are also much larger than even a few decades ago; that "one in a million" sociopath? The law of averages says there's about 320 in the US alone right now (at least it's not China or India, right?)

    Humanity sucks sometimes.

No matter how bad that other fan may have been acting it didnt warrant being executed. Not sure if I believe the article...cant believe Americans would stoop that low.

Well I can't believe that guy would bring a gun to a sporting event there. That was risking a misdemeanor fine!

Because most of the TV shows are all about horrible violence. Most movies are graphically violent. People are brainwashed to view violence as entertainment. People want to see blood. Its sick, but the way it is

That's kind of a chicken/egg deal though: Why did media ever START featuring that stuff if audiences didn't ALREADY want it in the first place? Ultimately, they broadcast whatever gets the most ratings, so they can sell the most ads, so they can make the most money, because the bottom line IS their bottom line. We can complain about the media promoting sex and violence while dumbing down culture with infotainment and the like, but if the majority of people wanted to see Masterpiece Theater, Nova and the MacNiel Lehrer News Hour, PBS wouldn't need tax subsidies AND pledge drives.

Yes, thats a very interesting point. I often wonder about that. Does the constant mental diet of gun violence and murder cause people to be more violent ? No doubt the box office and tv ratings indicate that people want violence, so certainly what is shown is motivated by profit. There has no doubt been a desensitization to graphic violence. Thats obvious.
