THIS ONES FOR JOHNWOULD YOU RATHER WIN UGLY, OR LOSE PRETTY?
I like the Spurs signing Gasol.
Man, so it looks like that Thunder team could get totally blown up then. They are a cautionary tale of how you can't take anything for granted in sports. In 2012 when they lost to the Heat in the finals, most people thought it was no big deal because with that core you could just pencil them in for at least 3-4 more finals appearances. And now 4 years later they haven't made the finals since and are one player away from losing every single member of that 2012 team.
But that's also why it's a good idea to keep all of your stars for as long as you can, because it protects you against the chances of any one guy getting hurt.
Yeah injuries are unpredictable and suck, but in retrospect, I bet OKC would like to take that decision back to get rid of Harden.
Yeah but it weakened a team severely in terms of scoring ability, and after watching LBJ get buckets at the end of the game, AND watching Curry and Thompson turn into brick lovers, yeeesh.
If you keep Harden, the injury of WB and Durant stings a lot less. If they stay healthy with Harden, that's tough sledding. I also think the injury to Ibaka hurt a lot, so I am with you to an extent.
come on, man! you just got schooled by wave, i expect more from you. . .
seriously, you don't think it would have been nice to still have an MVP-level scorer to plug in when one of those guys was hurt? you only need two in basketball, they might have at least gotten back to the dance if they'd kept harden. . . and then, you have to ask if that might have given KD more hope, more reason to stay. . . just puttin' that out there, sorry. . .
If KD leaves but they had Harden and WB, they can still keep a nice team around them, too. Keep in mind that Durant left because he wanted to be on a team with star players. So he probably left because WB is about to bounce....if Harden is there, he might stay. If Durant and Harden are staying, WB might stay, especially if they had already gotten a championship.
