Whatever has been said about Tim Tebow and the attention he gets or his ability to stick in the NFL, he has never given anyone reason to say anything bad about him as a person. Tebow is an inspiration to many people. He has many, many fans, many of which might not even be University of Florida (or Denver Broncos, or New York Jets, or New England Patriots, or Philadelphia Eagles) fans but root for him anyway. And he does great work through the Tim Tebow Foundation. Even though Tebow doesn't currently have a job in the NFL after being cut by the Eagles at the end of preseason, he can have a great effect on people who need it. Tebow visited Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville to visit Nathaniel Nelson, a 13-year-old boy who is battling cancer. It touched Nelson, who is clearly a Gators fan, to see Tebow: First Coast News wrote about Nelson's battle with cancer. First Coast News said Nelson was diagnosed in August with acute myeloid leukemia, which is the rarest form of leukemia that usually affects those 65 and older.* Nelson told First Coast News having cancer was " probably ten times worse than what I thought it would be." There are likely many tough days in his fight, but it seemed like Tebow made this day better for Nelson with his visit. - - - - - - - Frank Schwab is the editor of Shutdown Corner on Yahoo Sports.
