Default Panthers acquire Jared Allen from Bears.

Havent got a link yet but apparently the Panthers have acquired Jared Allen and apparently the Bears spent 11.5 million in March for Allen. So he got that much money to play 3 games for them. lol

Not sure what the Bears got in return yet.

    Ill steal MO's link. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...r-jared-allen/

A Mod can merge either one.

Default Jared Allen traded to Carolina

*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

Wow. I think Foxy and Gassy are looking for that QB of the future and need the picks and cap money to get him.

Update this when you get the link.

    Dumb move by the Bears.

Jay Glazer originally reported it, and all he says is that they got "a pick". And Allen was on the Bears last year, but if he didn't fit the new regime, why would they pay him all that money? That team is a complete mess right now.

    Ah, here we go:

Allen was traded for a 6th-rounder. Bears knew he didn't fit standup OLB position & didn't want to keep forcing it and forcing rotation

I know it was mentioned that the Bears wanted to clear some cap but yea, paying that money only to trade him 3 games into the season is crazy.

So they paid him that much $ and only got a 6th out of him? Holy ****, they are hitting Raitards errrr Raiders standards.

I cannot figure out their motivation here. What am I missing?

It's a Fox run team. There is no logic or motivation.

I didn't think it would be a very high pick.

Does he have anything left in the tank?

Yes. He's not well suited as a 3-4 OLB. He had his success in KC and MN as a 4-3 DE. I think he will do well in Carolina.
