Art Briles and Ken Starr (yes, that Ken Starr) both fired at Baylor.
Interesting. Did they say why Briles and Starr were fired? I havent been following anything college related for a while.
Briles is suspended with the intent to terminate and Starr has been demoted, but basically given President Emritus status in the law school.
Its hard to explain in a few sentences. Lots of sexual assault charges throughout the athletic department (by athletes) and a general culture that discouraged anyone from reporting it.
Isnt that guy the one who went hard after Bill Clinton on sexual allegations?
Isn't Ole Miss in some shit too?
"went hard" might not be the description I'd prefer.
I think the firing is a culmination of past issues surrounding the football and basketball programs. I suspect Briles was put "on notice" that criminal behavior by the football team was not to be tolerated and, instead, it was hushed up.
It will be interesting to see which schools might pursue Briles despite the baggage because his teams do win. Putting football programs like Houston and Baylor on the map is no easy feet and both programs are now truly solid despite Houston not being a Big 5 conference school and Baylor being a doormat for much of their school's history.
There are several colleges that might bring in Briles and hope the troubles don't follow him.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.
Maybe. There's some stuff hanging out there regarding Laramey Tunsil. But nothing to the extent of what's going on at Baylor.
Two Alabama players are facing marijuana charges in Louisiana. The most serious of the two is a projected top five pick, Cam Robinson, because when they were pulled over he had a stolen firearm in his possession.
