If stickum is a banned substance than so should the gloves. Defeats the purpose of banning stickum even if you allow gloves to all personnel.

No, but if they're both wearing gloves that give them a "competitive edge", I don't see the problem.

And in all fairness, Broncos receivers need sticky gloves to catch the ducks that Peyton throws.

I doubt they ever actually get banned though, because the NFL will not want to piss off Nike.

To me, it's not an issue of competitive advantage. I don't really care either way what they do with gloves, but it would seem more natural if receivers actually had to use their natural skills to catch the football.

If I remember correctly, the main reason they banned stickum was the negative effect it had on the football itself. Gloves don't have any effect on the football's condition.

Honestly, I don't mind the gloves. Anyone can wear them - including quarterbacks and defensive players.

THe gloves are NOT a competetive advantage since BOTH teams are wearing them, and they are legal equipment.

SKIKUM is not legal, AND the reason it was banned was because it got all over the football, NOT because it was an unfair advantage.

The NFL wants great plays and big scores. They aren't going to ban the gloves, nor should they.

Stickum was a mess. It got all over everything. Belitnikoff and lester hayes were covered in the shit. The gloves are clean. No mess. Isnt the nfl always trying to give the offense every possible advantage?

Spider man gloves have made Odell Beckham a household name.

Beckham is a very talented receiver. Not many people could have made that highlight catch - glove or not.
