Default OT Jake Long visiting Broncos tonight

Can't hurt to give him a look.

The Giants had Jake Long in for a second visit on Wednesday as they consider their options in the wake of left tackle Will Beatty’s torn pectoral, but the Giants aren’t the only team that lost a player at that spot to injury this offseason.

Not coincidentally, they also aren’t the only team kicking the tires on the former first overall draft pick. Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports that Long is planning to leave New Jersey on Wednesday night to visit with the Broncos.

Yeah, I'd rather have Mathis, but I'd be interested to see what Long has left. In any case, maybe there's more wiggle room to this OL than people have been thinking. That was always my point with Mathis - we're piecing it together this year, we might as well try to make it look as good as possible.

I think his agent is Tom Condon. Tom loves him some Broncos.

Couldn't hurt for the right money.

After passing up multiple opportunities to shore up the O-Line I'm surprised by this.

He's only 30 but with those back to acl injuries that's a bit troubling.

What are tyres and why would we kick someone in them?

Look, if he could just play the first 8 games, even that would be valuable. Just get through a few NFL starts to give Sambrailo a gradual introduction to the NFL, not "hey Rook! Welcome to the NFL! [POW!!]"

I'm sure the Broncos are going to give him a thorough physical before signing him.

But, the reason he got released is because he was being paid as the former #1 draft pick, and he's been injured and not living up to that the last 2 seasons.

This would be a huge signing if they can manage it. Gotta get it done. They cannot enter the season with some scrub or a rookie like Sambrailo as starting LT protecting Peyton's life. They CANNOT do that! And Jake Long is a pro-Bowl talent. No question, he's a HUGE impact player for the Broncos if healthy.

I would feel about 100% better about this season if they signed him.
