Thread: Darryl Hamilton killed in murder-suicide near Houston; child found alive nearby

Darryl Hamilton, a former Major League Baseball player who was an outfielder for the Rockies from 1998-99, was fatally shot Sunday by a woman in an apparent murder-suicide in suburban Houston.

Police in Pearland, Texas, say they believe Hamilton, 50, was shot several times by Monica Jordan, 44, who then turned a gun on herself.

Investigators say they found a 14-month-old child unharmed at the home, just south of Houston, when they discovered the scene. Hamilton and Jordan were the parents of the infant, police said.

Pearland police say there were called to the home on Sunday afternoon where they found Hamilton's body near the entrance and Jordan in another area.
