    Not a lot of details

"Mullen says a prayer meeting was going on at the church at the time of the shooting.

The shooter, described as a white male, was not yet in custody."

It was a black church. I wonder if this guy was a kkk member.

This is tragic. I feel horrible for these people. Their pastor and a state senator are those amongst the murdered.

I lived in Charlotte for a while and worked in both North and South Carolina. Coming from Denver where as a kid in the 70's- 80's you would see interracial couples and not even bat an eye, moving there was a culture shock.

People celebrated James Earle Ray day, still fly the confederate flag, and still refer to black people as ni**ers, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if this turns out to be exactly that.

    Sad story.

It was motivated by racism. He left one survivor to tell the story. He told her, "you're taking our women and ruining our country."

I spent some time in Tennessee and South Carolina, and I agree, the culture can be a little shocking, from both white and black people.

Nice. Just saw it on CNN. Glad he didn't get to take his own life. He needs to face justice.

South carolina reinstated the death penalty in 1974. I believe they use the electric chair. This punk is definitely someone who needs to fry in the chair. Another james holmes.

Dude is nuts but he knew hitting a church would get the attention he wanted. Im actually surprised this doesnt happen more often because of how vulnerable churches are for the most part.

Not too sure I trust justice through our system anymore. Time, money, media...just going to be a waste and a circus. Would have been better if he just ate a bullet.

Of all places why bother church folk. If you're a racist then go shoot up the black panthers or kkk. Why mess with innocent people like that?
