Saw that, coming for PS4 first and allegedly for XOne. Can't wait for it on XO. I'll get it for XO, if it doesn't I'll get a PS4 too.

I hate remakes, re-dos, reboots, basically any thing re.

But when it comes to my favorite game of all time, I'll reconsider.

I hope they didn't change the traditional fighting system into some free range battle thing. Other than the graphical upgrade, I hope gameplay regarding materia and battle systems stays true to form as a JRPG.

I never played a final fantasy game. I'm thinking of picking up a system in the next year or two.

This might be mine, too...it's definitely in the running.

I was really annoyed when I heard they were changing the battle system to something closer to Final Fantasy xv. After playing through FF XV though, I think it'll work out ok. It'll help to keep the game feeling fresh.

That is very disappointing to me and almost ensures I will not play it.

I know the jrpg battle lines seem archaic, but i don't like a lot of those free based battle systems. They should keep it as close as possible to the original and not try to reimagine it.

Maybe its just the ole AD&D in me, idk

Have you tried Final Fantasy XV out of curiosity? I would do that before you make too much of a judgement against the change. I hated the combat in XII and XIII, but it finally feels right in XV.

I've seen it. I dont like those kind of battle systems in the modern rpgs. Ever since Star Ocean once upon a game, I hated it. Thats why i thought Lost Odyssey (x360) was special and I played it well.

Ff7 is special to me and at the time was one of the best games ever made. If it is changed so much... Meh. Ill pass.
