I watched it on Netflix. I thought it was very interesting.

If you could pay 50 cents less a gallon for methanol or ethanol and your car/truck ran just as good, wouldn't you like to have that choice?

Has anyone seen these independent gas stations offering the alternative fuels?



I wish more people were interested in stories like these instead of Bruce Jenner.

Too bad using all the corn for fuel would make US meat prices jump about 400%. Ethanol is great idea but they would have to plant corn on every square acre of the country in order to produce enough corn for the ethanol that would be needed for everyone. At least that's the argument I have heard.

It's not about completely replacing gas with ethanol. It's about having a choice at the pump. Watch it sometime Weaz.

I definitely will. When I watch netflix it's usually documentaries or stand up comedy. We don't have the same stuff on our's as you guys do though. You watch Mexican or US netflix?

Both. I can enter in a US DNS code on my Xbox360 and get US Netflix. If you're interested and you can't get it on your Netflix, check it out on youtube with your media center.

not sure what it is but in the UK most stations have one pump of this strange fuel that is about half price - apparently it costs about a grand to get your engine converted in the first place - but i am not sure

Next time you go to the station, check and see what it is. Supposedly being able to run ethanol or methanol would cost like $150 USD. Some cars are already set up to run both, but people don't even know it.

If it's natural gas, the movie claims it is definitely the most expensive conversion but if you drive a lot, you can recoup your money fairly quickly.

cool, yeah I used to put in a US DNS to get the American but they would always go down so I just stopped. I have seen the "pay for fast DNS" ads but I'm not paying to get one.

I'll watch it.

If it was permissible to get more oil in the US we wouldn't have the fuel problems we have. The internal combustion engine is one of the single greatest inventions of all time, we restrict ourselves as a Nation, it's ridiculous.

not sure I'm following this, are you saying the US needs to burn more oil? the internal combustion engine doesn't need to run on gasoline, it will run on almost any combustible fuel.

Watching it now. One thing that it pointed out is although ethanol and methanol are cheaper they dont allow the car to go as many miles per gallon. So is that really cheaper? Sure you pay more for fuel but the car goes further.

And that was pretty cool how it said cars made in 1996 and above already have the flex fuel technology built in them. Just needs to be reprogrammed from the computer, o2 sensor. They would have to readjust the timing and everything.

I'm more high on going all electric for cars now. It would be way better for the environment and the US would have zero intrest in the middle east. Love the part about Tesla.

Have you seen any stations in your area that sell ethanol or methanol along side the gas pumps?
