Thread: Redskins release G Chris Chester

And CB Tracy Porter, but we're not going there again I assume. Chester, on the other hand ... is he any good? Better than Shelley Smith? Worth bringing in for cheap? I don't know much about him, but he was brought in to Washington to work in the ZBS and now Gruden is running a different scheme:

Chester, on the other hand, started 16 games each season for the past four years for the Redskins after five seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. His release saves Washington $4 million on the cap.

The guard was an ill fit for Jay Gruden's power-blocking scheme and he struggled in 2014. Spencer Long will move into the starting group and the team spent a fourth-round pick on former Alabama guard Arie Kouandjio.

I debated starting a thread for this - I wanted to post it in an existing thread, but I couldn't find one that fit on the first couple of pages. In fairness, I really only posted because it was about an O-lineman.

That doesn't make them all bad/pointless. This guy seems like a fit for our system at a position in which we are incredibly weak. It's not like he started a thread saying we should bring in Ray McDonald.

I didn't say they're bad/pointless, or that there's anything wrong with the threads. They're just somewhat annoying. We'll see a thread started on 60% of the guys cut during training camp/OTA's.

NOTE: This is not a diss on VonDoom, just stating my opinion.
