Did interval runs this morning for 3 miles. 30 secs at my normal pace, 20 secs a tic faster than normal pace, 10 secs dead sprint. Do that for 5 rounds then cooldown jog pace for 2 mins, repeat until finished with your target distance. GREAT way to improve speed for distance runs.

I'm playing in a company softball tournament in October so I might come in here and talking about running around bases if I can hit the ball. Haven't swung a bat in about 15 years.

    No mind trick lol

It was the second comment SR has made that has indicated a lack of fitness, or at least a lack of interest in phys - and i was wondering how that was compatible with a recent military career. Thats all!

I was a gym rat until I had surgery in January and haven't been back since. I was in the Air Force though, not the army. And I don't run. Ever.

Nearly everyone I know that ran all the time died of a heart attack. Often times, right after a run.

So in the last month or so I started running for pretty much the first time in my life and I hit a milestone today: Ran my first full mile without stopping to walk at any point during the run. My time was 7:39. Never something I thought I'd be able to do. Currently trying to get to the point where I can run a 5k. My body is feeling it now, though. I've been doing a pretty gradual program with run/walk splits and this was the first time I pushed myself to see how far I could straight run. It helped that I was running with my gf (who actually does run pretty regularly) and my competitive juices kicked in. I used every ounce of energy I had to finish that run.
