    Default Final Fanspeak Mock

Sometimes, the draft just comes to you. Players appear that you weren't expecting and they change what you meant to do on Draft Day. Let's just say this draft sort of picked me:

    28 - R1P28
    C CAMERON ERVING
    FLORIDA STATE
I'm thrilled he's still here. He can plug and play along the line starting at OC or maybe RT.

    59 - R2P27
    ILB BENARDRICK MCKINNEY
    MISSISSIPPI STATE
Another guy I'm surprised fell to me but I love his game and he'll be the next Al Wilson in the middle of our defense.

    92 - R3P28
    OT DARYL WILLIAMS
    OKLAHOMA
Despite Erving and Michael Schofield, a solid RT option is needed and Williams is the best on the board at this point.

    133 -R4P34
    TE JESSE JAMES
    PENN STATE
Pardon the pun, but this is a steal at this part of the draft. 6-7 size who will be a steady blocker and great third-down and end zone target. I almost took him in the third.

    143 - R5P7
    CB JACOBY GLENN
    UCF
Lacks top-end speed but has size, ball skills and tackling want-to. Should be a solid special teams contributor and nickel back. Might become a FS down the road

    164 -R5P28
    DT DERRICK LOTT
    CHATTANOOGA
Projects to a DE in 3-4 with enough bulk to stand up at the point of attack and enough quickness to penetrate and make stops.

    203 -R6P27
    WR TY MONTGOMERY
    STANFORD
Montgomery and Baylor's Antwan Goodley are my best 4th receiver/kick returner options on the board in this area. Both are still here and Montgomery is a Stanford boy so you know Elway will be pleased to have him.

    250 -R7P33
    RB COREY GRANT
    AUBURN
Nothing all that special about these last three but you're at the bottom of the draft and you're just looking for role-players.

    251 -R7P34
    OLB ALANI FUA
    BYU
A guy who may flourish in a 3-4 system and provides special teams depth.

    252 -R7P35
    QB CONNOR HALLIDAY
    WASHINGTON STATE
Nobody Ozzy needs to fear, just a Mike Leach QB with PAC-12 experience so you know he can wing it. Better QB options just didn't show up at the right times to be drafted.

I miss the old Mile High Stadium.

Sign me up for this. If there were a world in which we get Erving and McKinney without moving around, that's a world I want to live in. I don't know that much about Williams, but he sounds okay to me. I like Jesse James too. Yeah, let's do this, Elway.
