Default Peyton Manning donating $3 million to Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is donating $3 million to Tennessee to benefit the Volunteers' football program and Manning's scholarship endowment.

The university issued a release Friday saying Manning and wife Ashley announced a "$3 million leadership commitment." Manning starred for Tennessee from 1994-97.

I'm not sure one player has helped an athletics program as much as Peyton Manning has Tennessee.

  4. Default Peyton Manning, The Man

I've been Broncos fan 40 years, and like every other fan, was thrilled when Peyton came to Denver. First and foremost, he is a family man. Then he is a smart, savy, intuitive QB. He will go down as the greatest ever, or at least one of the best. He just doesn't care about the game, he loves the game. He and Ashley have done a phenomenal job with their foundation. Peyton has to be commended for all he gives back to the game, not only to his NFL teammates, but having training camps for college and pros to learn the intricacies of the game and to love the game as he does. Ever though I have, you really can't say enough about him.
