Default Broncos have interest in Antonio Smith

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- The Denver Broncos have interest in recently-available defensive end Antonio Smith and don't have to look far for a detailed scouting report on the 33-year-old.

Broncos defensive line coach Bill Kollar was Smith's defensive line coach for all five of Smith's seasons with the Houston Texans. Smith is known to be a player Kollar holds in high regard for Smith's on-field work as well as locker-room presence.

The Broncos will likely have competition in signing Smith from the Texans, who only have six defensive linemen currently under contract. Smith has started all but two games in the last six seasons, including 16 games for the Oakland Raiders last season.

    ESPN explains their redesign:

Frankly, the old one was an ad-cluttered train wreck. I like this *for now* until I figure out what is now impossible to find.

Oh, and would it be possible for ESPN to have a site that is just sports without the social commentary?
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.

Social Commentary is what its about now unless you are old like you/me. We are just behind the times.

Smith is a solid backup that wouldn't count against our comp picks next season. Minus the age, he's just the kind of guy Elway likes to sign.

Forget Smith. Spend the money on Wisniewski.

Trading for Gino Hochstein makes Manny Ramirez expendable which could clear cap space for a signing like this.
