Default Ziggy's Final 2015 NFL Mock Draft

    ROUND 1

T Jake Fisher- 6'6 306. Fisher is listed as a 2nd round prospect on most mock drafts. Don't pay any attention to that. When it's all said and done, I think he's the #1 tackle to come out of this draft. Fisher can step right in at right tackle for a year or two, and slide over to the left side when Ryan Clady leaves. He's the most athletic tackle in this draft, and fits the ZBS to a tee. His strengths are his versatility, leadership, nastiness, and run blocking. I've already profiled him, so if you want more info on him, click on this:
    http://img.bleacherreport.net/img/sl...630&h=420&q=75

    ROUND 2

G Ali Marpet- 6'4 307. Marpet is a small school prospect that began to open the scouts eyes at the senior bowl. He's the most athletic guard in this draft. See a pattern forming? Marpet was the only offensive lineman at the combine to run a sub 5.0 40 yard dash. He finished 2nd in the 3 cone drill and 2nd in the 20 yard shuttle behind only Jake Fisher. Marpet was a tackle in college, but was moved to guard at senior bowl week and thrived there. He looks like a natural guard at the NFL level, and handled both power and speed rushers. If not for the fact that he played for a division III college, he'd be a first round prospect. He uses his hands well, keeps a low center of gravity, and gets to the second level very quickly. Marpet was a two time team captain for Hobart. Some draft pundits will project him as a year 2 starter in the NFL. I think he steps in from day one to lock up the left guard spot for the Broncos.

    ROUND 3

OLB Hau'oli Kikaha- 6'2 253. Why is the nation's leading rusher available in the 3rd? Because he has 2 acl tears on his left knee. Stay with me now. Those injuries were in 2011 and 2012. In the last 2 seasons. Kikaha has played in 27 games. In those 27 games, he has 32 sacks and 40.5 TFL. That's explosion. He may not put up great numbers at his pro day. He's not an elite athlete. He's an elite football player. Hau'oli is high risk high reward. He may be one ACL tear away from retirement. He may also be the next Elvis Dumervil. The Broncos need a successor for DeMarcus Ware. Kikaha would be fun to watch in Wade's attack defense.

    ROUND 4

FB Jalston Fowler- 5'11 254. Fowler is the #1 fullback in the 2015 draft. The competition isn't even close. He's is an unselfish blocking machine in the mold of Howard Griffith and Daryl 'Moose' Johnston. Fowler has big back skills as well. He averaged 6.6 yards/carry in his career at Alabama, as well as playing some tight end, running back, and H-back. Kubiak loves his fullbacks, and I think Elway gets him the best available. Fowler can be a day one starter and mainstay on special teams.

    ROUND 5A

S Kurtis Drummond- 6' 208. Drummond should provide good competition at the free safety position to newly signed Darian Stewart. He's a well rounded player with center field skills. The senior captain doesn't have elite speed, but makes up for it with good field awareness and instincts. As a member of Michigan State's 'No Fly Zone', Drummond was an integral part of college football's best secondary. He will also contribute on special teams.

    ROUND 5B

WR Ty Montgomery- 6' 221. Montgomery ran a 4.55 at the combine. He's a 4.4 guy on film. He has good size, bad hands, and injury concerns. Why pick him up? Because he's an elite returner. Ty won the Johnny 'the Jet' Rodgers award as the top return specialist in the nation. He provides good depth at WR, while giving the Broncos an explosive return man for both punts and kickoffs.

    ROUND 7A

DL Derrick Lott- 6'4 314. Lott is big man with quick feet that can play any position along the D line in Wade Phillip's 3-4 defense. After running a sub 5.0 40 yard dash at the combine, he opened some eyes. Lott originally went to Georgia but transferred to small school Tennessee-Chattanooga for more playing time. He's a huge project, but one with size, speed, and strength.

    ROUND 7B

QB Brandon Bridge- 6'4 229. Bridge is a raw prospect with traits that you can't teach. Good height, cannon arm, and fearlessness. He has nothing but upside and good mobility. Bridge will need to be brought along slowly. With Oz being an UFA next season, it's time to keep an eye on the future.

    ROUND 7C

CB Curtis Riley- 6' 190. The former JUCO transfer and high school QB has good size and decent speed. He's a developmental player with some cover skills that will need to be polished.

    Will you Mary me?

Great draft. Fisher I'm so so on. Love kikaha and Drummond. Have had my eye on those two since before the season ended. Love them. Word is we like Lorenzo maudlin over kikaha ,but I like kikaha better. Love all the guys and would be thrilled if the draft went this way.

    But.

There are no TEs...we need two of them.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

I'll say this. Your list has guys one could easily project in those rounds although I think you're taking the FB too early. Does the OL *really* need the top two draft picks in the Broncos' draft. I'd rather look for help in the linebacking corps, myself. But good effort. Lots of "projects" but then there are lots of comp picks.

Drummond, and that whole Michigan State secondary, was awesome last year.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

We have 2 solid starters in Green and Daniels at the TE position. It wouldn't surprise me at all if we drafted one or even two of them, but I just kind of went with the flow on this one. Don't forget that the Broncos are one of the better teams in the league at finding gems in undrafted players.

I'm a huge fan of Fowler. I think he goes early 5th at the latest. He's far away the best FB in this draft and a plug and play stud from day 1.

Yeah, and I think Wade makes our secondary look similar this season. I expect to see a ton of tight man coverage in the secondary with TJ Ward finally turned loose on those poor WR's crossing the middle of the field.

But there are quite a few NFL teams that don't even use a FB anymore. It's a limited employment market. Only a small handful of teams will be in the market for a FB and some would rather look at a hybrid TE who could fill more positions. Using a 4th on a FB is like using a 4th on a punter or a long snapper, regardless how good he seems.

Meh, the 4th round isnt a bad spot to take a FB, especially if your clamoring for a hybrid TE who easily may or may not work out as well or see the field much due to the other TE's on the roster. At that point of the draft you take who you think will contribute more to the team and frankly, in order to continue to improve the running game a 1st string FB is far more valuable there than a 3rd string TE.

Not a bad mock. We will desperately need OL help and drafting early is going to be key.

OL, OL, LB as our 1,2,3 would work for me. As long as there's no reaching I think that's a great way to start.

Great mock. I totally agree with the Cowboys model of taking real o line talent early

Fisher is a zone-only lineman with limited power, imo, if you can't get him in the 2nd round you don't need him that bad.

Marpett might even be able to be the future at C from what little I know about him.

Replace Fowler with Blake Bell and I'll buy this draft. Otherwise...nice job.

If Randy Gregory dropped this far would you draft him?
