Trading down depends on several factors. Is what you want available at the spot you are drafting? If it's not, do I reach for something that will probably still be there in 10-15 picks, choose something else that isn't as great a need or trade back and add more choices?
There isn't a guaranteed right or wrong answer to this. But I'm fine with trading down, particularly for a bad team that really needs depth.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.
04-05 CBS Sports Big Board:
This time there were no trades at all. A few were offered but I just wasn't fond of them so, here goes:
1-28: Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford
Maxx Williams was still on the board but Peat could be a RT almost immediately
2-27: Denzel Perryman, ILB, Miami (FL)
With a 3-4, we need better inside linebacking and Perryman is a banger.
3-28: Clive Walford, TE, Miami (FL)
Deep threat with long arms and big hands. Stock falling due to lingering hamstring pull.
4-34: Eric Rowe, CB, Utah
Frankly, he won't be available here. Some mocks have him going in the first. May be better FS than CB.
5-07: Andy Gallick, C, Boston College
Serviceable snapper from a school that sends the NFL quality interior linemen.
5-28: Ray Drew, DE, Georgia
Yet another value pick I don't expect to be there. Good size-speed for a 3-4 defender.
6-27: Antwan Goodley, WR, Baylor
Deep threat who also returns kicks. Fearless attitude.
7-33: Anthony Jefferson, S, UCLA
We're into UDFA territory here with the last of the comp picks so I'm just adding defense/ST depth.
7-34: Marcus Rush, OLB, Michigan St.
7-35: Chucky Hunter, DT, TCU
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.
I have to see Perriman play better than Marshall and Trevathon to believe it.

4-10 Mock w/ CBS Sports draft board and trades.
I went a little trade-happy after San Francisco offered me their 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th for 1-28.
I traded some of those to Washington to trade up from 2-15 to 2-6.
Next, Arizona wanted 3-15 so I dealt it for 3-20 plus a 5th and 6th.
Then I traded a 4th, two 5ths and a 6th to get 3-26 from Baltimore.
When the dust settled, I was out of the 1st and 5th rounds but had 2 2nds, 2 3rds and a 4th plus the comp picks at the end:
2-6 (from WSH): Brett Hundley, QB, UCLA - He'll compete with Ozzy for the QB job in '16. Total athletic package. Needs to read defenses better and extend plays with his arm as much as his legs. Who better to teach him than Manning and Kubiak?
2-27: Laken Tomlinson, G, Duke - Intelligent 4-yr starter who can be a plug-and-play guard at the next level. Lacks line versatility which but has the size to stop bull rushers and the nimbleness to lead block. Maxx Williams and Carl Davis were still on the board but went with a spot that needs development.
3-20 (from ARI): Eric Rowe, DB, Utah - Three-yr starter at FS before shifting to CB as senior. Can back up several positions while he waits his turn. Tackles well and should light up special teams.
3-26 (from BAL): Lorenzo Mauldin, DE-OLB, Louisville - Likely replacement for DeMarcus Ware someday. Strong pass rusher who has played before with hand down as well as linebacker.
4-34 (comp): Jesse James, TE, Penn St. - 6-7 goliath with big hands who will make a good underneath target and dependable blocker.
Then the rest:
6-20 (from ARI): Derrick Lott, DT, Chattanooga.
7-33 (comp): Deontay Greenberry, WR, Houston
7-34 (comp): Aaron Ripkowski, FB, Oklahoma
7-35 (comp): Jeff Luc, ILB, Cincinnati

I think the Bucs should take Leonard Williams #1.
