Just a rumor but it appears the Browns want Mariota.

Its confirmed. It's no longer a rumor. The Browns have offered their first two picks for the #2 spot.

I guess Manzell didn't impress the coaches and GM/Owner after his stint in rehab.

I don't think the GM or the coaches were ever impressed by him. I think that was an "owner" pick. I never thought he was worth more than a 3rd.

I think my only problem with this would be they really havent allowed Manziel to show anything. While im not sure he would even amount to anything i think you should at the very least give said player a handful of games to see what they can or cant do. The way the Browns have been lately on QB's reminds me of the Lions taking a 1st round WR every year and failing up until they finally landed Johnson.

If I could get Marriota and dump Manziel I'd do it in a heart beat. He was never worth a first, not even before he got in trouble.

I would agree to an extent but then i wouldnt of been the Browns and taken Manziel anyway. To me if they try and get Mariota it just means Manziel was a wasted pick. I hate wasted picks. lol

Default Joe Thomas: Johnny Manziel is 'night and day from last year'

Pro Bowl left tackle Joe Thomas of the Cleveland Browns, who less than a month ago was talking openly about how Johnny Manziel "lost a lot of trust last year," is apparently quite pleased with the quarterback's new attitude and actions.

"The way he is now is night and day from last year," Thomas said Tuesday, according to NFL.com. "He has a bright future ahead of him."

"Last year, on a Saturday, you might see a picture of him on Instagram floating on a swan in a swimming pool, drinking champagne. This year, on a Saturday, if you came in the building, you'd see him studying his playbook and watching film with his coach," he continued. "It's pretty apparent he's realized how important football is to him. He's realized you can't get away with some of the things he did in college because it's a big boy's game now."

If I'm Mariota, I pull an Elway/Manning and let it be known that I refuse to play in that shithole.
"We saw it…. the hussars let loose their horses. God, what power! They ran through the smoke and the sound was like that of a thousand blacksmiths beating with a thousand hammers

They rush on to the Swedes! They crash into the Swedish riters…. Overwhelm them! They crash into the second regiment - Overwhelmed! Resistance collapses, dissolves, they move forward as easily as if they were parading on a grand boulevard

With what leverage? It's not like he has baseball to fall back on or a dad who can pull strings. Unless he's willing to sit an entire year and reenter the draft to prove his point, I don't see him having the leverage to call his shot like that.

He was who I was referring to with a dad who could pull some strings for him. I'm just not sure that Mariota really has anything like that to get him leverage,

He's got decent leverage, he can say he will refuse to play for the Browns and then do just that if they draft him. If he doesn't sign a contract I doubt very seriously that the Browns would do anything but trade him.
