Default Titans reportedly got an insane trade offer for the No. 2 pick

    http://www.businessinsider.com/titan...-eagles-2015-4

    Two first-round picks
    One third-round pick
Fletcher Cox, the team's best defensive player
    Brandon Boykin, nickel corner
    Sam Bradford, starting quarterback
    Mychal Kendricks, starting linebacker

Apparently Chip really wanted Mariota. Titans were dumb to turn that haul down.

If that's true, Ruston Webber should be fired.

No kidding? It's hard to believe they would give up that much, and even harder to believe the Titans would pass. Combine that with an obscure source and it seems like a load of bologna.

Chip knows marriota, maybe the titans thought if chip was ready to give up all that - he must be the future of a franchise.

Add that to wisenhunts ability to get the best out of his qb the titans must feel really optimistic going forward with marriota

Man, it takes balls to turn that down. But if you REALLY see a guy as a franchise QB, a guy who can anchor your franchise for 10-15 years and lead you to a title, then I probably would turn that trade down too. If Tennessee had any doubt about Mariota at all you have to think they jump on that trade.

I don't know. The kid has Alex Smith written all over him.

All that for Mariotta? I agree with Coach, not big on him. But I also don't think a lot about Chip Kelly and his whole get the team from Oregon back together and we'll be great.

Apparently they offered the same to the Bucs for the #1. Both turned Chip down.

Could be, but if the Titans really do see a franchise guy in him, then I don't blame the for not making the trade. I mean in all honesty it looks like a huge deal, but it's not just a ton for a franchise QB.

Boykin, Bradford, and Kendricks are all decent enough, but are really nothing more than throw-ins. Cox is definitely a blue-chipper, but really the only one in the deal. Then they trade down in the first this year and pick up what will likely be a mid to late first rounder next year, along with an extra third.

While it does look like a nice haul on paper, and one I would definitely take if I were unsure on Mariota, it's just not enough to part with a guy you see as a franchise QB IMO.

The similarity is in their respective college systems and ability to run.

However, the similarities stop there. Marriota has much more arm talent and likes to throw the ball down the field.
