Thread: The Case for 28- Bernardrick McKinney

Next up is ILB Bernardrick McKinney. McKinney is one of 3 ILB'ers that may go in the first round. McKinney has great size 6'4 246 with 33 inch arms. On game days, McKinney lives around the ball. He lined up all over the field for the Bulldogs, an was used as a pass rusher from the OLB position from time to time. He offers great versatility for a creative defensive coordinator like Wade Phillips. McKinney is solid against the run and doesn't overrun plays. He has good instincts and decent athletic ability for his size.

You don't see ILB as a position of need (blink, blink)? Maybe not for the first round, but, yeah, it's a definite need.

Total homer pick on my part, but this is who I hope we get. I watched pretty much all of his games this year and the guy makes plays. He came in as an unheralded 2-3 star guy and worked his way up to the first round conversation, so you know the guy puts in the effort to improve. I'd love to see him in orange and blue.

As far as e other ILB that might go 1-2 rounds none of them take on blockers like this dude, I'd take McKinney and like him up next to Marshall.

I know a lot of people are high on Perriman I just hope the Broncos FO isn't.

I read that we scheduled a visit with him, so there seems to be interest there. If we're taking an ILB in the first, he would be my choice

It was Tebow. He talked about why he was the freak of the week.

We do not know how travathan will bounce back health wise And how a combo of him and Marshall will be in middle.

I agree, I know his scouting report says he has stiff hips, but he diagnoses the run as well as anybody I watched this year, he's physical, and go sideline to sideline. I would love to see that dude in a Broncos uni.

I was just poking around over at FanSpeak, doing their mock draft simulator. Using DraftTV's big board, I managed to get McKinney, Jake Fisher and Jordan Phillips in rounds one, two and three respectively. Too bad this seems far fetched! I had a lot of fun with this last year, so for those of you who haven't tried it:
