    Default Manning-Brady Swap

If Peyton Manning played the entirety of his career with the Patriots and Tom Brady started his career as a Colt and was currently a Bronco who would have more rings?

Too many variables. No one can rightfully answer that.

Bullshit. Peyton Manning would. BB is the best coach in the league without even the tiniest shred of doubt.

    Agreed.

Both are different animals and both bring different things to the position. Chances are because of the coaching factor the amount of SB's for each would result in the same way but maybe those SB's turn out differently result wise. Just dont know how they would of turned out ultimately.

You can compare how their teams fared when they were lost for a season...

The only one who could answer that question thoroughly is Joel.

    Manning.

In the early days Brady was a product of his system.

Put manning on with that defence for the first 5 years of his career it would have been scary.

Brady may have avoided fewer one and dones as a colt - but in the play offs, better talented teams with better coaching would still have murdered the Colts therefore Brady.

Bill Bellicheat would also have coached the absolute shit out of manning and not let him be the offensive coordinator.

There's a big misconception that Manning didnt have a defense throughout his career but that is a total myth.

In 2002 the Colts were ranked 7th in the NFL in defense, the Colts went on to lose the WC game that year where Manning threw 2 Ints.

In 2005, the Colts defense was ranked 2nd and they went on to lose the Divisional game that year at home.

In 2007 the defense was ranked 1st and yet the Colts went on to lose in the divisional game again at home.

Then of course most recently in 2012 the Broncos defense was ranked 4th and yet they lost in the divisional round at home then as well.

Bottom line, there were years in Peyton's career where the defense was ranked very so the theory that he never had a defense is just flat out false.

Can't really argue with that, but how do you think a manning lead offense, with BB as hc and that defence would have done?

    Better same or worse?

Like i said before when i agreed with SR, its hard to say because each QB brings something different to the table. Lets also not forget that Manning has played with better receivers for most of his career compared to Brady. And in the year that Brady first faced the Giants in the SB the Pats defense was ranked 15th in the NFL. Chances are with BB at the helm Manning makes it to more SB's, i think thats pretty much a given considering BB is one of the best coaches ever. However, what would be unknown is whether or not Manning would of won the same amount of SB's as Brady has with the Pats. Ive watched Manning in his career from college all the way to now and more often than not he fails in the big games compared to Brady but neither has anything to do with their teams defense but their own specific play in those games. I would look at this link when you have time, it really breaks down the difference between both QB's. One of the more interesting stats in that link is how each QB plays indoors vs outdoor and how much has done in both. Its pretty interesting actually.

I will also add that its kind of funny that those who feel Manning would of done better with NE are the same ones who state that BB and the Patriots are cheaters. SO wouldnt that just mean Manning would of only been successful because of that supposed cheating? lol

True enough but how much coaching from BB did Brady have when he won the super bowl in 2001? Not much. Skill wise and talent wise Manning is a better QB but no one wins like Brady wins. Conversely, no one chokes like Manning. Like I said, there are too many variables.
