    Default 2015 Free Agency megathread

Shouldn't we have one of these for all the big transactions this year? Free agency officially starts next week, but there have been some moves already that should be noted in one place.

Jacoby Jones, Reggie Bush and AJ Hawk were cut by their respective teams at some point last week. We already knew this, but I thought it was worth putting it here.

Franchise tag day has arrived. Our own DT was tagged, as were Dez Bryant and Justin Houston

Some other recent developments of interest:

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 10m10 minutes ago

A transition tag sighting! Dolphins placed transition tag on TE Charles Clay, per a league source. TE transition tag is $7.071 million.

Andrew Mason ‏@MaseDenver 4m4 minutes ago

Miami can match any contract offer to TE Charles Clay. No compensation if 'Fins choose not to match. "Poison pills" eliminated in 2011 CBA.

The Broncos had been rumored to be interested in Clay, so this may change their plans. Also:

Patriots placed their franchise tag on kicker Stephen Gostkowski, per a league source.

The interesting part about this is that they did NOT tag Devin McCourty, who will probably be coveted by a lot of teams.

Gonna be expensive. Not a great safety draft class, so someone will overpay McCourty.

Skip all free agent FS unless Delmas comes cheap. All TEs and all OL should be on our list.

Scratch clay unless we can give him a 4/23 deal.

Bulaga, ducasse, Weisneski, carpenter are all OLs within reach.

I DO NOT WANT NEWTON!!!!!! I think he sucks and would rather start schofield- and I do not think schofield is ready.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

Seven teams are at least $41M under the cap with free agency starting next week: Jags, Raiders, Browns, Jets, Colts, Titans and Bengals.

Long story short: A bunch of veteran free agents are about to get paid.

As expected, the Lions don't tag Suh. Someone is going to pay him big money. The question is, will he pull an Albert Haynesworth once he gets paid? I'm glad we're not going to be the ones to find out.

Suh is an intense competitor. I don't see him pulling an Albert.

Speaking of transition tags, why don't we use one on JT?

Because the Broncos don't want to keep him.

I feel the same way, but it might be a way to get some compensation for him.

Agreed, but I think the Duke is happy with a 3rd or 4th round comp pick in next year's draft. I don't think he wants to put any obstacles in the way of another team going after him with a huge contract.

Because you can only use one or the other every off-season I believe Al, since we used the franchise tag on Demaryius then the transition is unavailable to use.
    - Doesn't bother me what people think, the mere fact what I think seems to bother others speaks volumes about them more then myself! -

When you use the transition tag, the original team does not get compensation if the player signs with another team...wheras they would get 2 first round picks if they lost someone on the non-exclusive franchise tag.

Cant use both the franchise and transition tag in the same year.

I think Suh is going to raiders. They have tons of money to spend and DelRio as HC, he is all the DL. I think that is where they will splash in FA.

Sadly, I agree with this. They'll probably also go hard after JT or Cobb and they have the number four pick this year. They could actually be good next year
