Default Shells in car, at scene from same gun

FALL RIVER, Mass. -- A Massachusetts State Police sergeant has testified that the shell casings found in Aaron Hernandez's rental car and at the murder scene were fired from the same weapon.

Five shell casings were found at the scene where Odin Lloyd was killed in June 2013. An employee of a rental car business has testified she found one shell casing in the Nissan Altima that Hernandez rented and returned the day of the killing.

Police later found that shell casing in a trash bin at the business.

Default Prints of Hernandez, victim in car

FALL RIVER, Mass. -- A state police trooper who specializes in fingerprint analysis testified Tuesday in the murder trial of Aaron Hernandez that the fingerprints of the former NFL player and his alleged victim, Odin Lloyd, were found inside a car that was allegedly used to drive Lloyd to his death.

Prosecutors say Hernandez, then a New England Patriots tight end, and two friends, Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace, picked up Lloyd from his home early on the morning of June 17, 2013, shortly before he was killed.

Massachusetts State Police Trooper David Mackin, who processed the fingerprints found inside a Nissan Altima that Hernandez had rented, testified that Lloyd's fingerprints were found on the handle of the rear passenger side door.

Default Tracking data fits Hernandez's route

FALL RIVER, Mass. -- Tracking data shown to the jury Thursday in the murder trial of former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez indicates the victim's cellphone pinged along the same route that prosecutors say Hernandez took that night.

The data roughly tracks the route prosecutors say Hernandez took from Odin Lloyd's home to the industrial park in North Attleborough where Lloyd was found shot to death June 17, 2013. A T-Mobile employee testified about cell sites that pinged Lloyd's phone starting at 2:32 a.m., when prosecutors have said Hernandez picked Lloyd up at his home in Boston.

Among the cell sites that pinged Lloyd's phone was one near the interchange of the Massachusetts Turnpike and Route 128 at 2:53 a.m., the same time a photo was taken showing a Nissan Altima that Hernandez rented driving through a toll plaza near there.

    Default Fiancee: Hernandez was drunk

FALL RIVER, Mass. -- The fiancee of former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez took the stand in his murder trial Friday, telling the jury that he was drunk in the hours before the slaying of her sister's boyfriend.

Shayanna Jenkins also told jurors that she found a handgun in a kitchen junk drawer before the June 17, 2013, killing of Odin Lloyd.

She avoided looking at Hernandez as she testified. As she left the stand, she mouthed something to him, and her face looked ashen.

Jenkins was granted immunity by the court in February, which meant she could be compelled to testify or face time behind bars. There had been a question about whether prosecutors would call Jenkins, who has been in a relationship with Hernandez since high school and is the mother of his 2-year-old daughter.
