Evidently Fox remains the confused befuddled Coach Magoo we'll always remember so fondly: https://twitter.com/darrenrovell/sta...624385/photo/1

Bears considering handful of OC candidates, including Charlie Weis, SF's Geep Chryst, DET's Jim Bob Cooter, DEN's Adam Gase. Weis intriguing

Fox's a real student of the game, NTL.....right on top of things!

And he's reportedly bringing in Charlie Weiss as OC

But let's not forget that Elway hired him. I remember the knot in the pit of my stomach the day that move was announced.

Gase in interviewing as well. I would think he would take Gase, or anybody, over Weiss.

Gase interviewing tends to contradict the speculative narrative (specarrative?) Fox wanted out because he disliked and disagreed with Gases gameplan, but couldn't change it because Elway declared the whole offense off limits from Fox the moment he promoted Gase. If I'd just cost myself AND boss senior jobs with a team a year after a SB, I probably wouldn't send him my resume when he got his next team.

Why? Weiss has proved to be a fantastic OC in the NFL. Not only in NE, but when in KC as well.

I think Fox likes Gase more than you would believe, Joel.

I take no position on their relationship either way, I merely referenced rumors others reported that Elway gave Gase exclusive offensive control as "head coach in training" and Fox didn't like that nor the resulting game plan. I frankly thought it absurd to suggest Elway would put any HC in a position that awkward, forced to strategize for the whole team around an offensive game plan he's convinced will fail. Fox immediately reacquiring Gase as OC the moment he landed a new job tends to bear that out.
