ATL might prefer Josh McDaniels and Rex may have sensed that. Two former Patriots, Pioli and Dmitroff, are running the football operations for the Falcons and may have felt a Rex Ryan personality would not be a great fit.

Atlanta can't offer Josh the position until after NE's season is over so that's why I think Rex abandoned hope for the Falcons.

You're assuming he had his pick of jobs. He would have preferred Atlanta too, but he thinks they got cold feet again and prefer Josh McDaniels.

Rex and Sanchez reached the AFCCG twice.

Not defending Sanchez, but it wasn't a total failure either.

He needed to go to Atlanta or San Francisco. I don't know man, I think Buffalo is fool's gold.

I honestly think Buffalo might go 8-0 at home next year, a strong D, a good HC, a new offensive coord that is experienced with pounding the rock, 2 good (albeit beat up) backs and when they need to throw they have Sammy Watkins to go to.

i reckon they can pick up someone like Nick Foles at Qb

That's fair enough. But he still can't be that feared as a coach until he gets a quarterback.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

Oh I totally agree - but I don't blame him for jumping at a tangible offer as opposed to waiting for hypothetical offers that may have never materialized. Maybe it's not an ideal fit, but that's on Buffalo not Rex. He's smart enough to know these offers don't come around very often.

True enough. I was skeptical of if he would get a chance right away.
