Default Connecticut Supreme Court upholds ruling that teen must undergo chemo

    http://www.foxnews.com/health/2015/0...undergo-chemo/

So if she had just refused for "religious" reasons they couldn't have forced her but because she just doesn't want it, she doesn't have a choice

    http://news.yahoo.com/connecticut-co...a5U6GIAmQUPxQt.

Personally, I would want my CHILD to have the treatment but someone who is 17, it should be her choice.

The STATE told me I couldn't have my tubes tied when I was 20. Said I was too young to make that choice and I would regret it later. 22 years later I regret NOT just doing it anyways. Only you can decide whats best for you.

The STATE needs to butt out IMHO

Huh, I've always been under the impression that the parents of a minor have final say in her medical treatment. Given that the mom didn't want her to have the chemo either, I don't really get this ruling.

That's kind of what baffles me too - I can see the parents wanting her to have it - her saying no - and the parents asking the state to intervene but in this case the whole family is on board. And like I mentioned earlier had this been for religious reasons the state couldnt have intervened - which also makes no sense

In The UK if a minor can demonstrate cognitive capacity they can make legal decisions regarding their treatment
