Default Peyton Manning officially questionable for Monday night

Everyone expects Peyton Manning to start on Monday night in Cincinnati, but officially that’s no sure thing.

The Broncos listed Manning as questionable on the official injury report for Monday’s game against the Bengals. Manning has been getting treatment for a thigh injury and has also battled an illness.

If Manning can’t go, Brock Osweiler would get the nod. Osweiler played briefly — and played poorly — when Manning went to the locker room during Sunday’s win over the Chargers.

Obviously, it would be very, very bad news for the Broncos if there really is a risk that Manning can’t play. But from all indications, there really isn’t any question. Manning may be listed as questionable, but he will play.

Peyton will play. Other thread has tweets from practice saying he looked fine.

You will likely see the giraffe for a full game against Oakland.

I actually do want to see Oz for a whole game. I don't think he's all that good either, but I'd love to see him against a crappy team like Oakland where he's had all week to prepare to start. I think it would give us a pretty decent gauge of where he stands and if we need to maybe start thinking about other QBs to bring in to compete with him.

    You won't see Oz unless:

    1) we lose to the Bengals. Even then, Manning will likely play vs Oakland if Indy beats Dallas because we're still trying to get a first round bye.
    2) the game is well in hand and we're just running to kill the clock. There are still big playoff implications based on our record. If we lose the next 2 games and Indy wins out, they are the #2 seed. If the Pats lose, we're playing for the #1 seed.

In short, we can't afford to just give Oz the keys.

There is one scenario you didn't mention. As things currently stand, the Pats play at 1 next week and we play at 4. So if those kickoff times don't change, there is a very good chance we will be locked into the 2 seed by kickoff. In that case, I think we would see a heavy dose of Oz.

And probably without DT, JT, and others.

    Won't tell us anything.
