I had a gym membership but its too easy to talk myself out of not going. So I was thinking of trying something at home.
I was looking at the Total Gym
Has anyone ever tried one?
What piece of equipment is your favorite?
They all end up turning into cloths racks.

Just get an elliptical or a treadmill. The hard part is getting a cardio workout at home - you can always go buy a cheap kettle bell or dumbbells for any resistance/weight lifting.
You can probably find a cheap one on Craigslist if you don't want to pay full price.
Use your own body weight for muscle definition, yoga for flexibility and run/cycle (or elliptical trainer) for cardio
And eat well.
I have an elliptical a treadmill and a stationery bike and I use them all. I think an elliptical, and of course diet, would be good.
This thread is lame without any before and after pics.

Well - does not mean a lot!
Save your money - honestly. Buy a skipping rope if you feel like you need some equipment, seriously, press ups, inclined, marine, wide arm, cross thumbed etc etc are all better than free weights for your average chick who wants to get slimmer, same with different sit up variants, squats and toe raises. Our body provided all the resistance we need.
Dont go on a mad protein feast either - unless you are body building or seriously training, it is not needed
They can all be done for free with no extra kit
Dave, know your audience for crying out loud.
