I thought this was going to be a thread about finding dead male prostitutes in Tom Brady's crawlspace. Instead it's just another example of what a scumbag BB is.

Yeah Kraft and Bellichick are less than savory characters. No surprise there. My only question is did this dirty dealing allow them to somehow circumvent the salary cap? Was the recouped bonus money re-added to their cap? If so, they should be investigated for potential salary cap violations.

The savvy NE Patriots uncovered Fanene trying to hide an injury. Good for the Patriots forcing some of the bonus money back that he did not deserve.

What I always find interesting about these tactics is BB is the best coach in football and it's not even really close.

What they do year in and year out is infuriatingly amazing and speaks for itself.

So why bother with this stuff? They don't need it. Just needless.

The Patriots claimed he signed a settlement which forbid him from any legal claim or public disclosure. If that's true, it's really a dead case walking. Might have been dirty but he signed an agreement. I imagine a lot of teams do injury settlements because every team has draftees that never play a down.

What did they do? They gave him 3.85 million while he hid an injury. I don't think Fanene ever stepped foot on the practice field for NE and he hasn't played a down of football since. He should be thrilled the Patriots settled with him and gave him a few bucks for which he didn't deserve a penny.

You know, that was my take on the whole story, but I didn't want to say so.

If there is a scumbag hidden away in this incident, I'd say it was the player who tried to scam his employer.
