So Jimmy Clausen is still a thing. Learned something new today.
rest - http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story...ay-cutler-weekThe Chicago Bears plan to start Jimmy Clausen at quarterback this week over Jay Cutler, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Cutler has struggled this season in leading the Bears to a 5-9 record. In Monday's 31-15 loss to the New Orleans Saints, he threw two touchdowns but had three interceptions to bring his NFL-leading turnover total to 24. He produced a season-low passer rating of 55.8 and generated a total QBR of 6.8, which registered as his second-worst performance of the season in that category (he had a 6.0 QBR in Week 10 against the Green Bay Packers). He also was sacked seven times against the Saints.
Cutler is the highest-paid offensive player in the NFL this season at $22.5 million. Coach Marc Trestman informed him Wednesday morning that Clausen would get the start, sources told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen.

THIS ONES FOR JOHNWOULD YOU RATHER WIN UGLY, OR LOSE PRETTY?
What do they actually accomplish with this move other than creating controversy?
As a guy that likes Jay to some degree this is probably the best move. Either it will start to sink in that he needs to shore up his own shit or he will just continue to fold. Jay is just at a point in his career where he should be much better on the field and in the lockerroom. While the OC was guilty of being a douchebag to follow that up with another horrible outing vs a very bad Saints defense only creates more issues for a team that is already doubting if he is the guy that can lead them in a positive direction. I think at this point Jay needs a bit more humility and the Bears org will see what kind of resolve he has. The season is lost, time to let Jay start thinking about how he approaches the future.
An angry Bears fan sings a few Christmas carols. It's pretty good.
