If that were the case, then every team would simply hire the guy with the highest YPP average. That's not the case. Height and depth is much more important than just distance. Not to mention the ability to kick and keep it inside the 10 yrd line. Simply looking at the average punt distance isn't really seeing the whole package.

Btw, it was Manning missing a wide open Welker and taking a sack that led to the final nail in McManus coffin, the NFL is a bitch.

Even if McManus sucks as a punter, Colquitt has sucked this year too, but McManus is at least cheaper and can still do kickoffs. If Colquitt were still the same guy who got that big contract, I wouldn't be suggesting this.

I was thinking of starting a petition on change org to get btb in the front office. As much as he says he knows he should be able to whip us into shape just in time for the playoffs

Cause, you know, having a guy who has never punted in the NFL punt and do kickoffs, just cause yay touchbacks, and firing your proven top 10 punter, who has been the holder for 5 or so years (soooooo replaceable) is fool proof....right?

Colquitt doesn't suck. You know who sucks? The guy that just got cut.

I've always liked Conner Barth. I think he will do well enough. It will be nice to have FG as an option.

This guy in here dropping knowledge. I thought it was a good point.

Colquitt has been pretty awful this year. It's a shame, because he looked like one of the best punters in the league at one point.

Colquitt's stats are pretty much middle of the road. I haven't seen him play awful on the field either. I'm not sure where all of this is coming from. If he were as bad as some suggested, we would be getting a new punter, just like we got a new kicker.

Colquitt is only allowing 8.6 yards per return and has 18 kicks inside the 20 with just one touchback. He's doing just fine.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.
