Default Eric Decker's tweet goes awry

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. - The New York Jets' Eric Decker picked a bad week to try to rally the team's disgruntled fan base.

A well-intentioned tweet by the $36 million wide receiver sparked a Twitter war that ended with his wife, country music singer Jessie James Decker, firing back at Jets' fans and, ultimately, deactivating her account.

It started Wednesday, when Decker caught serious flak on the social media site for asking his followers to explain why they love the Jets so much.

Oh no, Phil Simms is calling Sundays game. I hope he doesn't say anything that can be considered anything but nice about the Broncos.

Hopefully Brady will "throw the ball so well that it goes a little farther than you want it to go" again in this one.

lol I told my wife last night that if I was ever tweeting about something work related, and she interjected on my behalf, she would be an ex-wife.

I remember the McD meltdown days in which a few people, myself included, would occasional try to lighten things up around here only to get pounced on by fan who wouldn't even consider that there was one positive thing that could be said about the team. I finally left the site for a few months so things could cool down. So it doesn't surprise me that the Jets fan sites are in total meltdown mode & their not a thing that anyone can do to get any positive vibe going their until the Jets turn things around.

"The more you can be ... personal with them, I think the more they feel part of the team," he continued. "For me, that's the biggest thing, making fans feel like they are important, because they are."
That sounds sooooo naive. I'm glad we dropped him and signed Sanders.

Say, Eric, the last time Jet fans were happy was 1969. You can look it up because you weren't born yet.

You just need to tell your Pats fans to be quiet when Manning is on offense. Tell the clock guy.....no music.

Damn straight. Needs to do a rinse and repeat on their last stretch of pregnant, barefoot and in the kitchen.

She used to get worked up with Denver fans, especially if Decker screwed up on the field. During the Tebow era, she took more than her fair share of shots at him for not getting the ball to her boyfriend.

She's a country girl with no filter.
