What exactly was he expecting? Geno Smith was there a year before he got there. They weren't great then. You went from one of the best QB's in the league to one of the worst. You took the money over having a better career.

I needed 10 points out of Decker last night to make the fantasy playoffs (since Roddy White was injured) - it may as well have been 10000 points... Good lord, Geno Smith should just get cut today if they are completely unable/unwilling to pass the ball at all.

Everyone would have taken that money, and should have.

Hopefully his depression somewhat goes away when the game check is deposited in his account...

I don't feel sorry for him at all. It was his choice.

He knew the score when he left. Still like him as a player but he wanted more money (rightfully so) over playing for a championship calibur team. He has to live with that decision.

Default Eric Decker leaves Denver Broncos, signs with New York Jets

    from article -

In the end, Eric Decker never had a chance to return as a Bronco.

"I'm very thankful for my four years in Denver," Decker said late Wednesday night. "I think it's one of the greatest cities to play in. Unfortunately, I never got an offer from the Broncos.

I thought every one knew that Decker did not get an offer from the Broncos, just like Knowshon did not get one

He may not have gotten an offer because his pricetag was too much. I dont know what his agent and himself were asking for but if i really wanted to be a Denver Bronco i would make sure that i worked something out. If Deck was going to wait for them to beg for him to stay that wasnt going to happen.

Yeah.. the Broncos HAD to of known the Decker was simply out of their price range. It would be insulting to offer him a low-ball amount when they already knew that the Jets were willing to pay (as the agent would have already known). There wasn't animosity from either party, and Decker knew that there would be no way to make that money up had he "given it away" by not accepting that Jets offer. It's too much money to turn away.

At the same time, he knew that he most likely would never get to play with a QB like Manning again. That's what decisions are about, pros vs cons. It is what it is.

I am not going to presume to know what goes on inside the offices (as you should not), but he signed on March 14, that is very early. If he was really waiting for the best opportunity he wouldn't have signed that early. He seen big coin and signed.

I would have stayed in Denver - he would have got at least what we offered Sanders and that is enough never to work again, when this is coupled with his wife's income, his kids are never going to go without food or clothes.

For those reasons i would have picked playing with my friends, in a great city, where i was happy, with a HOF qb and a realistic option of going to the superbowl again.

I just wonder if his wife wanted the move to the big city environment of New York for the sake of her career and their tv show?

I couldn't watch the game last night, but I did look at the stats afterwards & wondered if they had resigned Tebow. Seriously, those were Tebow stats he put up last night.

There is some logic to that because his career will probably be over before her's.

Sanders got $6 million guaranteed, Decker got $15 million guaranteed and more than $1 million per year more. I don't care how much you value winning - you'd have to be crazy to leave that money on the table.
