What really happened to the Broncos run game on Sunday

Many saw the Broncos pass for 282 yards while running for only five yards at the half and legitimate concerns about the team’s ability to run the ball reached exorbitant levels. Early in the second half Montee Ball injured his groin and left the game. Problems running the ball then followed him to the locker room. The Broncos were able to run for 87 yards and a score in the second half alone, which led most people to tweet me something like, “Montee Ball sucks!”
Calm down; It’s not so simple. Although I genuinely love Ronnie Hillman’s ability in this offense and have been impatiently waiting for the Broncos to unleash him, the timing could not have been better.
Manning had devastated the Cardinals in the air and because of that they all but vacated the box in the second half. The play selection with Ronnie was different as well. The Broncos were able to run out of.....................
