Thread: Week Four NFL Power Rankings

  1. Default Week Four NFL Power Rankings

    By Brandon Spano

    12. Buffalo Bills (2-1) Their only loss is to the San Diego Chargers who are turning out to be a damn good football team. The Bills are very balanced. They've called 88 pass plays and 88 run plays this year. On defense they're sixth in rushing yards allowed and haven't allowed a rushing TD yet.

    11. Chicago Bears (2-1) They’ve won two in a row and both were on the road in moderately tough places to play in San Fran and New York. While the offense has been good in spurts, the Bears have been the most opportunistic team in the NFL with eight turnovers created in the first three games.

    10. Carolina Panthers (2-1) This will be a tough team for as long as Ron Rivera is the head coach. The defense is nasty. Cam Newton does need to get this offense going though. When a team (Steelers) was finally able to run the ball and put up points on them, they had had no answer on offense. They are a disciplined team who has only committed two turnovers on offense, good for fifth in the NFL.

    9. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1) After a Baltimore loss, I may have slept on this club but they just beat the Panthers in North Carolina and are now 2-1. The Steelers look like the old Steelers again. Their 6.0 yards per carry on offense is the best in the NFL

    8. Baltimore Ravens (2-1) When you've beat the ninth place team and your only loss is to the first place team, you have to be on the list but Joe Flacco has to be better in order for this team to continue winning. The Ravens have only allowed three sacks out of 122 pass attempts so blocking cannot be an excuse. They have had success running the ball though, averaging just less than five yards per attempt.

    7. Atlanta Falcons (2-1) Another team whose only loss came to the stifling Bengals. Thursday nights blow out win over Tampa Bay was one for the ages. This offense is averaging an NFL best seven yards per PLAY and has scored an NFL high 103 points. Matt Ryan is also the only QB to have reached 1000 yards so far this year and is on pace to reach 5,337 passing yards.

    6. San Diego Chargers (2-1) The Chargers only loss is to the Cardinals who are not going to be easy for anyone to beat. They are extremely efficient on offense. Not only do they dominate time of possession but the Chargers are also very balanced with exactly 98 pass attempts and 98 run attempts. Even if the yards per carry average is low, McCoy forces the run, which keeps the defense honest and sustains drives.
